Do people say you look just like your grandfather when he was your age? When we look at members of a family it is easy to see that some physical characteristics or traits are shared, but what are the rules that govern the inheritance of these traits? Our middle schoolers are learning about genotypes, phenotypes and alleles that answer these questions in science class.
Enjoy this recording of our students performing in their annual Christmas Concert at St. Peter Claver parish. May you and your families enjoy a peaceful and joyous Christmas season.
Congratulations to the 3rd grade class and Ms. Rogers for winning the Christmas door decorating contest. The students decided on the theme of Advent --celebrating love, hope, joy and peace. Parents and grandparents also joined in to help with the design and decorating. Thank you to all the classes that participated.
Some great news for those looking to support charities that make an impact in our community. The Independent Sector and National Council of Nonprofits joined with the IRS to highlight this pandemic-related provision where married couples filing jointly can deduct up to $600 in cash donations and individual taxpayers can deduct up to $300 in donations. Under the temporary law, taxpayers don't need to itemize deductions on their tax returns to take advantage of this, which creates tax-favorable donation options not normally available to about 90 percent of tax filers.
We are ready to blast off into a new school year on Monday. https://t.co/G3bufK2cqm
